Bottleneck

The output Bottleneck (Shifting Bottleneck Detection1) shows how much, percent of the time, each Flow Object and Resource has been the sole bottleneck or shifting bottleneck of the production. Shifting bottleneck time is the time when the bottleneck moves from one object to another and more precisely the overlapping time they both spend as bottlenecks. This output selection isn't available if this output isn't selected in the Simulation settings under the work flow step Experiment.

This bottleneck detection is a more sophisticated way, than using simple Utilization, of determining which objects that are the most critical bottlenecks. In this case (image below) Utilization suggests operation Junior1 to be the bottleneck whereas Shifting Bottleneck Detection suggests operation Junior2 as being the primary bottleneck.

The Results view displays bottleneck data of the different objects side by side in a stacked bar chart. Details about navigating these charts can be found here.
