Notes are used to add comments to a model. These can contain information that explains certain parts of the model or highlights some areas of model.
Notes are added to the model just as any other object by drag n' drop and the edit mode is entered by a simple left-click on the note.
Syntax for displaying settings of objects
Using a special syntax it is possible to display settings of different model objects within a note. The syntax uses a couple of keywords-/characters to determine what is a settings reference and what is not. The keywords are (explained further via some examples in the table below):
- << - Start of settings reference.
- ! - Optional flag for whether or not to evaluate settings. Positioned directly after <<.
- / - Path name object separator, used for traversing the heirarchy of a model (i.e. Templates and Selections).
- .. - Used for going up one level in the model hierarchy.
- >> End of settings reference.
Note: Using this syntax with a invalid setting reference/path will result in the syntax still visible, e.g. reference to the process time of Operation2 of CustomStation below.
